Shrinking Violet At Home Edition Review

As regular readers of my blog will know, I’m up for trying anything and everything in the quest to lose a couple of extra pounds and, with my girls trip to Dubai just around the corner, the pressure is on for me to look amazing in my bikini. So when the opportunity arrived for me to try out and review Shrinking Violet’s Home Edition kit I jumped at the chance.

If you’re into your beauty treatments, or you know a lot about professional beauty, you will have heard of Shrinking Violet. They produce the popular detoxifying body wraps that are used in salons and spas across the country and are proven to help people lose inches but this is the first time that it has been available for people to try at home which is great news.

First of all – a lot of people are put off having to go into salons for these sorts of treatments, it can be a little intimidating, especially if you’re not a regular in the salon. Add to that the cost – everyone knows having something done professionally in the salon is expensive and it’s the first thing to cut out if you’re saving up. Although the Shrinking Violet Home Edition is by no means cheap at £129, this would equate to three (or even less) salon treatments so is well worth the initial investment.

The Shrinking Violet Home Edition kit includes a Shrinky Suit (absolutely love the name), specially formulated solution, and a tape measure so that you can measure how many inches you’ve lost. Unlike a lot of these home kits (explaining why you’d rather go to a salon to get a treatment done), the Shrinking Violet one is incredibly easy to use – you just apply the solution to your problem areas (love handles and tummy for me!) and then pop the suit on.

So let’s talk about the suit. It’s not attractive, I’ll be completely honest. I haven’t yet worn it when Mr P has been home and I don’t think that will change any time soon! It looks a little like an unflattering pair of tin foil PJs but who cares? You only have to wear it an hour for the treatment to start working and then the solution continues to work for 72 hours afterwards. The solution is really key to the treatment and the suit kickstarts it, raising your body temperature and making you sweat, getting rid of toxins from your body.

You can wear the suit while you’re relaxing or while you’re doing exercise (I wouldn’t personally recommend whacking it out at your next Legs, Bums and Tums class though). I’ve been wearing it snuggled up under a blanket for extra warmth and I’ve been multi-tasking by watching X Factor at the same time. It’s a really good idea for exercise haters like me as it doesn’t care if you’re lazy, you literally don’t have to put any work into it.

After only a couple of uses this weekend, I am actually feeling really slim. I’ve even lost inches on both my arms and legs although my tummy remains unchanged (although I did eat a Dominos on Sunday night!).

It’s also big news on the blogging scene. I’m in an East Midlands bloggers What’s App group and we’ve all been comparing notes (and, of course, pictures) on the product – most of us seeing real results.
